Beginners Guide to Aura, Chakras & Energy Work

In this beginner’s guide, I’m going to explain what your aura and chakras really are, why they matter, and give you simple, practical ways to balance, protect, and strengthen your energy in daily life.

What Is Your Aura?

Your aura is the energetic field that surrounds your physical body. It contains information about your emotions, health, thoughts, and spiritual state. Most people can’t see it with their physical eyes, but many can feel it.

A healthy aura is bright, strong, and balanced. When you’re tired, stressed, or emotionally drained, your aura can become weak or develop “holes.”

What Are Chakras?

Chakras are spinning wheels of energy located along your spine. There are seven main chakras, each connected to different physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of your life:

  • Root chakra – safety and security
  • Sacral chakra – creativity and emotions
  • Solar plexus chakra – personal power and confidence
  • Heart chakra – love and compassion
  • Throat chakra – communication and truth
  • Third eye chakra – intuition and clarity
  • Crown chakra – connection to the divine
When your chakras are balanced and flowing, you feel more centered, healthy, and connected.

Simple Ways to Balance Your Energy

You don’t need to be an expert to start working with your aura and chakras.

Here are three easy daily practices:

  1. Grounding – Imagine roots growing from your feet into the earth to feel stable and safe.
  2. Quick chakra scan – Sit quietly and mentally check each chakra from root to crown. Notice where the energy feels blocked or too strong.
  3. Energy protection – Visualize a beautiful bubble of white or golden light around you that only allows loving energy in.
